Wide receiver, cornerback Braxton Green, born in New Orleans, Louisiana and currently resides in Jonesboro, Georgia. The Jonesboro native had his first taste of football when he was watching reruns of Michael Irvin on the television. Green soon aspired to have great hands in football. He had played for many different Pop Warner teams since the age of six up to the seventh grade. In middle school he played running back and cornerback. Currently, Green is a junior playing as a wide receiver for the Tigers at Mundy’s Mill High School.

Green’s playing style as a wide receiver is known for being fast and aggressive. In his belief, the DB’s do not like to press up on him because of his quickness and aggressiveness playing style. He is known to be highly dangerous out on the field once the ball is in his hands. Even if Green has a reputation of being highly dangerous player out on the field, he still believes he still got more room for improvement on speed. He knows that his strengths in football will one day lead to a spot on college football team.

"I believe my ability to make big plays is what I bring to a college football program. "

When you talk training with Green, his regiment is mixed with many different forms of workouts from weight training, to agility workouts and 7 on 7’s. He constantly trains on the ladder working on speed footwork. He also adds in jumps to challenge his workouts. Track and field helps him with another part of his training. He also enjoys playing basketball when he is not training for football.

Green on his training regimen; I’m never truly impressed with my performance unless in late game situations. I want to be that ultimate receiver. The one that my Quarterback won’t hesitate to throw it to in the corner of the end zone, but until Friday night, I’m specifically working on my speed, mainly on my 40 times.”

Most athletes have major influences to look up to. For Braxton Green, he tells us Dez Bryant is one of his major influences in football. Green says to him Dez Bryant has the greatest hands and is so fluent. Reggie Bush has another influence on him because he has great agility and speed. Another athlete that influences him is Sean Taylor because of his fearlessness.

As an athlete, you’d always have a memorable or highlight first career experiences. For Green, his first high school catch was his first memorable moment in football. He tells us he was so excited when he got home, he was screaming of excitement as his mother. She was not happy with all the screaming because it was past midnight and tired. But he didn’t care. He just took it all in and enjoyed his glorious first moment.

There are many accomplishments that Green would be proud of on and off the field. On the field he has the gift to move the ball up and down the field and was named most improved player by the Coach. Another accomplishment he received was being student of the month. All Green would want to do for his future right now, is to have a great senior year and to work hard on his GPA. He has been looking in to schools that have shown interest to him only. Green says he would love to play in these following teams; SEC (Southeastern Conference), PAC-12 (Pacific-12), BIG 10 and play as a true freshman.

Braxton Green has a fresh raw talent in football. He is being molded every day in making his future in the game of football. He will forever work hard and train hard to get to his goal. He is very coachable and pushes up to the grind. Even when he had an injured knee, with a hole in his kneecap he had the determination to work hard and never back down.

He is an up and coming fresh new talent for all of us to look out for. Click on the following link for  Braxton Green highlights
